Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are made of translucent (clear) material. They are most popular with adult patients, due to their cosmetic appeal. The only drawback to ceramic brackets are that they are more fragile, and the elastic ties can discolor between orthodontic visits.
Benefits
- The brackets attached to your teeth are clear and almost invisible.
- Smaller bracket design than traditional metal braces. The brackets take up less space on the front of your teeth. Even though they are smaller, they are very strong.
- Some bracket bonding agents may be hard on teeth and damage tooth enamel when they are being removed. There are technological advances for removing clear ceramic braces to minimize the possibility of damaging tooth enamel during the removal process.
Ceramic Braces are virtually invisible and get the job done just as well as traditional metal braces.
